Joshua Tree

Joshua Tree National Park presents an incredible landscape of desert that is largely unknown to the world.  When most think of desert they think of a barren sand filled space with no water and little life.  Joshua Tree throws that assumption to the wind in its rich flora and fauna which changes as its elevations change.  Joshua is everything extreme about a desert.  Its cold winters and blistering hot summers with springtime laced thunderstorms and moderate dry autumns. The place is alive with wonder and incredible stories of human history.  Follow me each day in my trek through this expansive space.

Zion

zion4  March 8 – 14, 2015

I am spending the week in Zion National Park. Late winter in Zion is an extraordinary time here.  This is my first National Park in my journey.  Every week I will experience a new National Park with writings, photos, video, and more.  My goal is to connect you with each National Park in helping everyone to understand and feel the beauty of our natural landscape and waterscapes.  National Parks are the greatest indicator of what is possible if we all dedicate ourselves to preserving nature. These spaces give a microcosmic visual to what is possible and how these spaces enhance our lives.  To touch and feel and experience a National Park is to grow as a person and become deeper within one’s own context of mind and spirit.  We are all connected to nature, regardless of belief or background, we all live according to it and must live in unison with it.

Experience the National Parks through my eyes and thoughts each week as I travel to each one.  Thank you so much for being here.

Ready to launch this new business, Lonely Fire Publishing.  I am called to take this venture and do so with faith.  My entire life I have wanted to write and photograph our nation’s National Parks.  On March 1, 2015, I begin that journey.  I feel God’s calling and blessing to experience this and share my travels and travails with everyone.  Our vision is to connect people to nature through enhancing their experiences in our National Parks.  Through our work, we will bring people closer to each other, build each person’s connection to nature, and bring all to find unique extraordinary experiences in their visits.
